If the Bible memorisation programme sounds good then this year I am attempting to follow the schedule from Bethlehem Baptist Church and John Piper which is well organised, manageable, uses the ESV which works well at least for me, and has the advantage that at the end of the year you've learned most of Psalms 34 and 139.  More details here.
